April Flowers

The Carnivous Plant Update

  1. Do some cursory research about Carnivorous Plants.

  2. Wait until your local hardware store has overstocked, neglected and marked down these beauties.

  3. Buy all the cheap ones, along with a bag of sphagnum moss, and soil appropriate to what you're getting. We got the fly traps for $.50/each in late Fall.

  4. Take them home and liberate them from those little plastic boxes.

  5. Transplant them into a bog outside (I buried a large plexiglass box with a lid). Now they're roughing it!

Summer seems to be as brutal on these plants as Winter. Maybe they would like more water and more sandy soil. DeLo says I should leave them alone, and I am finally listening.
