The Carnivous Plant Update
- Do some cursory research about Carnivorous Plants.
- Wait until your local hardware store has overstocked, neglected and marked down these beauties.
- Buy all the cheap ones, along with a bag of sphagnum moss, and soil appropriate to what you're getting. We got the fly traps for $.50/each in late Fall.
- Take them home and liberate them from those little plastic boxes.
- Transplant them into a bog outside (I buried a large plexiglass box with a lid). Now they're roughing it!
Summer seems to be as brutal on these plants as Winter. Maybe they would like more water and more sandy soil. DeLo says I should leave them alone, and I am finally listening.
